Spore is a multi-genre single-player god game developed by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. The game was released for the Microsoft Windows and Macintosh operating systems in September 2008 as Spore. A special edition of the game, Spore: Galactic Edition, additionally includes a Making of Spore DVD video, How to Build a Better Being DVD video by National Geographic Channel, The Art of Spore hardback mini-book, a fold-out Spore poster and a 100-page Galactic Handbook published by Prima Games. As part of its license, Electronic Arts released Spore Origins, an arcade-style game for mobile devices, and Spore Creatures, a light RPG for the Nintendo DS. Spore: Galactic Adventures, an expansion pack for the PC game, Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena for Wii and Nintendo DS respectively, is in the fall 2009 lineup, and Spore Creature Keeper were announced as part of the 2009 lineup.
Spore allows the player to develop a species from a microscopic organism to its evolution into a complex animal, its emergence as a social, intelligent being, to its mastery of the planet and then finally to its ascension into space, where it interacts with alien species across the galaxy. Throughout the game, the player's perspective and species change dramatically.
The game is broken up into distinct yet consistent, dependent "phases". The outcome of one phase affects the initial conditions and leveling facing the player in the next. Each phase exhibits its own style of play, and has been described by the developers as ten times more complicated than its preceding phase. While players are able to spend as much time as they would want in each, it is possible to accelerate or skip phases altogether. Some phases feature optional missions; when the player completes a mission, they are granted a bonus, such as a new ability or money. If all of a player's creations are completely destroyed at some point, the species will be respawned at its nearest colony or at the beginning of the phase.
Unlike many other Maxis games, Spore has a primary win condition, which is obtained by reaching a supermassive black hole placed at the center of the galaxy and receiving a "Staff of Life". Another major achievement involves defeating or befriending the Grox, a cyborg species with a large empire guarding the core. However, the player may continue to play after any goal has been achieved. There is a difficulty selector to each stage, allowing players to choose the difficulty for each part of the game. Spore defaults to the easiest level. The first four phases of the game, if the player uses the editors only minimally, will take up to 15 hours to complete, but can take as little as one or two hours.

The Sims 3 is a 2009 strategic life simulation computer game developed by The Sims Studio and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to the best-selling computer game, The Sims 2. It was first released on June 2, 2009 simultaneously for OS X and Windows – both versions on the same disc. The Sims 3 was released to game consoles and smartphones on October 26, 2010, for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Android, iOS and Nintendo DS. The Windows Phone version was made available on the Windows Phone Store on the October 15, 2010 for $6.99. There is also a Nintendo 3DS version, released on March 27, 2011, as one of its launch titles. It has also been released for mobile phone platforms, and a simpler version for mobiles with Java.
The Sims 3 was an instant success, selling 1.4 million copies in its first week. Critics issued mostly positive reviews. The Sims 3 gained an 86/100 score from aggregator Metacritic. The game has sold over ten million copies worldwide since its 2009 release, making it one of the best-selling computer games of all time. The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessors. Players control their own Sims' activities and relationships in a manner similar to real life. The gameplay is open-ended and indefinite. Sim houses and neighborhoods are placed on one continuous map. The developers stated that "What you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within." One of the biggest changes to the franchise is the use of "rabbit-holes". Players aren't allowed to go inside the majority of city buildings; instead, the Sim will disappear inside for a certain amount of time—a feature known in video games as a "rabbit-hole"—while the player is given several choices on what happens inside using a text-based notification.
Sims 3 introduces many more character customization options than its predecessor The Sims 2. The player has a larger selection of body types for Sims, and is able to create different hair styles for every Sim. The player is able to pick their Sim's shoes, a feature previously limited to console versions of The Sims and The Sims 2. There are a total of 22 hairstyles for female Sims and 17 hairstyles for male Sims with more available through expansion packs, stuff packs, the Sims 3 store and third-party custom content. Hats and accessories may be applied and may also have their colors and textures altered. Each hairstyle's color can be customized with one of eight basic colors. You can customise colours, and there are mods allowing you to make hairstyles, or even The Exchange allows you to download Sims, hair colours, pets, clothes, etc., made by other simmers, or yourself!

Plant Tycoon is a life simulation game about the breeding and growing of plants, published by independent developer Last Day of Work.Players take on the role of the owner of a plant nursery, who must breed and care for more than 500 different kinds of exotic plants, all the while attempting to keep the plant store economically viable long enough to achieve the ultimate objective: breeding the six Magic Plants. Along the way, they can catch insects which are then added to a kind of "trophy" room, the duplicates of which can earn the player a significant amount of cash.
Players start with only a small selection of plants, some seeds, some money, and a seed box. Money is earned by selling plants and catching duplicate bugs. With this additional supplies, medicine, and special chemicals are available to be bought, along with the options of researching soil, water, insect nets, and pruning shears (three levels for each) for your plant shop. Although the game runs in real time, it can be paused - normally the life in the plant shop runs even when you exit the game or turn off your computer.
There are several ways in which plants in Plant Tycoon differs from real life plant raising. For example, plants in Plant Tycoon can only be pollinated once, and Magic Plants in Plant Tycoon have a unique effect on other plants or purchasers. It also assumes that all plants can be cross pollinated and make hybrids with any other plant.
Players take on the role of owning a greenhouse where they breed and sell plants. They start with $250, Common soil, Common water, Common shears, a Common net, a few Common seeds, 1 seed storage box, 1 bottle of Insta-Grow, 1 bottle of Insta-Grow Vaporbomb and 1 bottle of Plant food. Players make more money by selling plants and catching bugs. They can then buy more chemicals, tool upgrades, nursery upgrades and seeds.
There are 48 different types of bugs. Catching bugs brings in a little bit of money. There are Common, Uncommon and Rare bugs. The first bug of each type goes into a jar and all duplicates of that bug are automatically turned into cash. Duplicate bugs earn $5 for Common, $20 for Uncommon and $40 for Rare. The bug net can be upgraded from Common to Uncommon to Rare with each upgrade requiring less accuracy in catching a bug.
